Position Overview

The Director of Sales and Business Administration is responsible for finding and developing new sales opportunities, growing revenue, and expanding the brand of ResearchDx within the Molecular Diagnostics field, supporting the goals of the Pharmaceutical industry. The Director will provide client-relationship management as well as contract creation, execution and revenue forecast generation.

Essential Job Functions

  • A deep understanding of typical Molecular Diagnostic technologies, including quantitative and real-time PCR, Next-Gen Sequencing, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, etc.
  • Ability to discuss, in detail, the relative merits or disadvantages of particular molecular methodologies/technologies in any given development or application scenario.
  • Builds an expanding pipeline of accounts pertaining to the Molecular Diagnostics industry, through proactive sales activity and networking.
  • Develops tools to facilitate interactive and productive client calls.
  • Achieves a high rate of conversion from initial customer interest to fully approved contracts.
  • Collaborates with ResearchDx subject matter experts, as required, on incoming sales leads and customer conversations.
  • Provides sales activity reports and forecasts to senior management.
  • Continually increases company knowledge and understanding of competition and marketplace.
  • Achieves Sales and Business Development organizational goals whilst upholding best practices.
  • Supports and solves problems for clients by developing an understanding of their needs and exceeding their expectations in providing solutions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work to time constraints.
  • Work closely with Project Managers in the lab to ensure communication for client stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Masters degree in a related life science or business field, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years relevant business development and/or sales experience
  • Advanced industry knowledge.
  • Demonstrated client communication skills.
  • Ability to manage difficult client and/or financial situations.
  • Strong working relationship with all company teams, as required
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire, retain and grow client base
  • Significant experience developing and executing strategic business/sales plans.
  • Extensive negotiation skills: direct face to face negotiating experience with major clients.
  • Highly consultative and partnership oriented.
  • Self-motivated and dynamic in their approach to developing new customers
  • Strong customer quality and satisfaction focus

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 15 pounds at times.
